• SELECTIVE GROWTH MEDIUM || 100g bottle of powdered growth medium. Used to grow, maintain and study gram-negative enteric bacteria.
• DIFFERENTIATING GROWTH MEDIUM || Tests for 3 different characteristics – production of hydrogen sulfide, formation of indole (Kovac’s reagent required, not included), and motility.
• EASY TO PREPARE || Simply mix 30 g medium with 1 L deionized water and bring to a boil while stirring to ensure medium is completely dissolved. Pour into petri dishes or tubes, then allow medium to cool and form a semi-solid matrix.
• EXCELLENT FOR LABORATORIES AND CLASSROOMS || Ideal for use in general biology and microbiology laboratories and classrooms. This medium will only allow gram-negative enteric bacteria to grow. SIM Medium can be used to test for bacteria’s production of hydrogen sulfide and mobility. When used with Kovac’s reagent (not included) it can also confirm the formation of indole.
