5 piece equal mass cylinder set. Set includes aluminum, brass, nylon, acrylic and polyvinyl chloride. The five cylinders in this set has an equal mass, measures 0.5" (12.5mm) in diameter, but varies in length from 0.5" to 4".
Excellent for physics classrooms. Density materials have a wide range of educational applications for all grade levels, including density investigation, specific heat and specific gravity exploration. Set includes a complete instruction manual that gives a background on density, specific gravity & specific heat and includes inquiry based student activities with capture sheets.

Due to the nature of raw metals, some oxidation or corrosion due to humidity and storage may occur. Simply scuff any oxidation off to make the item look brand new again. These materials are designed to be used in an educational setting and are not fabricated using ultra high precision machining. Expect tolerances in the +/- 5% range of any stated dimensions (although they are generally much tighter).

The Eisco Labs Density Investigation series is designed to help students identify and figure out mass, understand the relationship between mass, volume & density, to understand specific heat and specific gravity and provide them with quality introductory physics and chemistry concepts.
