The Disk and Demonstration Race Set recreates a classic physics experiment and allows your students to observe real applications of abstract concepts. Rotational inertia is a measure of the resistance to a change in the state of rotational motion and is dependent on an objects mass and how that mass is distributed from the axis of rotation. This can be observed by racing combinations of the disks and ring down an incline. The object with the greater rotational inertia will always lose the race.
Set includes one metal ring: 3.5" diameter, 3oz; and two wooden disks: 5" diameter, 6oz & 3.5" diameter, 3oz
